The year 2024 began with a historic step forward for the renewable energy sector in Poland. The key moment for the industry came on January 11, 2024 in Gdynia – the official establishment of the Polish Offshore Wind Industry Chamber (PIMEW). This event not only opens a new chapter in the Polish energy industry, but also represents an important step towards sustainable development and the use of renewable energy sources. Among the pioneers of this movement, REMOtrade is proud to be a founding member of PIMEW, which will have a significant impact on shaping the future of offshore wind energy in our country.
What is PIMEW?
PIMEW is a newly established business self-government organization, the first of its kind in Poland, dedicated to the offshore wind energy sector. It is a voluntary association of companies and other entities operating in the production of components, provision of services, trade, or construction for the offshore wind energy sector.
PIMEW’s mission and goals
PIMEW continues and develops the mission undertaken by The Polish Offshore Wind Energy Society (PTMEW). The chamber’s goals include promoting local manufacturers and service providers, creating support tools for the industry, making changes to regulations, supporting the creation of business partnerships, creating local technical standards, and promoting the Polish supply chain in foreign markets.
PIMEW continues the mission started by PTMEW, developing its achievements and expanding its functions. The Chamber’s goals are:
- Promoting the activities of local producers and service providers.
- Developing and improving support tools for the industry, including financial, guarantee, and insurance instruments.
- Making changes in regulations to improve the competitive position of the Polish industry.
- Supporting the creation of business partnerships and arbitration.
- Creating local technical standards.
- Promoting the Polish supply chain in foreign markets.
- Supporting academic, technical and professional education.
For REMOtrade, being part of such an important initiative as PIMEW is a matter of great pride. Through this cooperation, we are opening new horizons for domestic energy production, reducing dependence on traditional energy sources and foreign supplies. The green economy is the future, providing not only cleaner energy, but also new jobs, technological innovation and the development of local communities by creating new opportunities and perspectives.
